4X Lower Gel Buffer contain Tris and SDS at the appropriate pH and concentration for convenient and quick preparation of polyacrylamide gels for protein analysis by SDS-PAGE. Dilution of the Running Gel 4X buffer (1.5M Tris pH 8.8 and 0.4% SDS) to a 1X solution results in the standard, 0.375M Tris, 0.1% SDS concentrations routinely used in the preparation of the running gel for SDS-PAGE.
