X-Gal IPTG Solution (1000X) is a ready-to-use solution for blue/white selection of cloning constructs in standard lacZ systems. X-Gal IPTG Solution (1000X) is composed of 125 mg/ml X-Gal and 119 mg/ml IPTG in a non-hazardous and non-toxic solvent.
General Protocol :
1. Cool agar to about 50°C.
2. Add 100 μL R.T.U. X-gal IPTG Solution (1000X) to every 100 mL of agar. Mix it gently.
3. Pour agar into sterile petri dishes.
4. Allow agar to solidify.
5. Plates could be used immediately or stored at 2 – 8°C and protected from light.
